Parsons is seeking a mid-level Linux Systems Administrator to support Linux-based workstations and servers in both physical and virtual environments. In this role, you'll perform daily system checks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure. This position requires a proactive problem-solver who can think critically, adapt to challenges, and provide solutions under minimal supervision. Manage new user onboarding, workstation imaging, and configuration. Diagnose and resolve remote user and system infrastructure issues. Monitor and optimize system performance and reliability. Plan and coordinate system outages and upgrades. Monitor and maintain network systems. Install server and network equipment in a data center environment. Document infrastructure architecture changes and updates. Resolve user requests and issues reported to the HelpDesk. Occasionally support after-hours system upgrades. Required Skills
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required. Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience (additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered) 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Experience maintaining virtual environments and deploying Linux services. Understanding of basic networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Firewall). Desired Skills
Familiarity with virtualization and Docker technologies. Experience with automation technologies such as Salt, Ansible, or Puppet. Proficiency with tools like Confluence and JIRA. Experience with a wide variety of open-source software and utilities. Experience managing FreeIPA or LDAP-based systems. Background in network security, intrusion detection, and server monitoring. Familiarity with server and networking equipment rack installations.
