Casa De Saffron is a high-end Asian–Latin fusion restaurant offering bold flavors, refined techniques, and an elevated dining experience. Located in Hicksville, Long Island, we blend Asian precision with Latin soul to create a distinctive culinary destination. We are seeking skilled and motivated Line Cooks who are passionate about quality, consistency, and teamwork.

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items with accuracy, speed, and consistency while upholding Casa De Saffron's high culinary standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, solid cooking fundamentals, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, upscale environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Food Preparation & Execution
  • Prepare assigned station (grill, sauté, fry, pantry, or prep) according to recipes and standards.
  • Execute Asian–Latin fusion dishes with precision, proper seasoning, and refined presentation.
  • Follow plating guidelines to ensure consistency and visual appeal.
  1. Station Management
  • Set up and break down station before and after service.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas during service.
  • Communicate clearly with the Chef and fellow line cooks to ensure smooth kitchen flow.
  1. Quality & Consistency
  • Maintain high standards for taste, texture, and presentation on every dish.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed while respecting established recipes.
  • Ensure proper portion control and minimize waste.
  1. Safety, Sanitation & Compliance
  • Follow all DOH regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation protocols.
  • Practice proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and workstations.
  1. Teamwork & Professionalism
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Accept direction and feedback from Chefs with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Assist other stations and prep tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience as a line cook in a fast-paced or upscale restaurant preferred.
  • Knowledge of Asian, Latin, or fusion cuisine is a plus.
  • Strong knife skills and basic cooking techniques (grilling, sautéing, frying).
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Team-oriented mindset with attention to detail and reliability.
  • Food Protection Certificate preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hot kitchen environment.
