Oiji Mi is a Michelin-starred, casual fine dining restaurant located in New York City's Flatiron District. The restaurant offers an intimate 60-seat dining room featuring a contemporary Korean five-course prix-fixe menu, alongside an à la carte bar and lounge program. Position Overview

Oiji Mi is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to help lead its Michelin-starred kitchen. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chef de Cuisine is responsible for daily kitchen operations, consistent execution of the menu, and leading a high-performing culinary team. This role plays a key part in upholding food quality, service flow, and the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary & Service Execution
• Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure consistent, high-quality execution
• Maintain Michelin-level standards for technique, seasoning, and presentation
• Support menu execution and development in collaboration with the Executive Chef
• Ensure smooth coordination between kitchen and front-of-house during service

Team Leadership & Development
• Lead and manage the Sous Chef team and culinary staff
• Foster a professional, collaborative, and disciplined kitchen culture
• Train, mentor, and develop team members with a focus on growth and accountability
• Participate in hiring and staffing decisions

Operations & Standards
• Maintain all BOH areas to NYC Department of Health "A" standards
• Oversee inventory, ordering, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities
• Uphold cleanliness, organization, and safety systems
• Ensure all operational procedures and company standards are followed

Qualifications


• 3+ years of Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine experience in a Michelin-starred or comparable fine dining environment
• Strong leadership skills and operational kitchen experience
• Proficiency with scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and administrative systems
• English fluency required; Spanish preferred
• Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Professional, confident communication with staff, guests, and ownership
