We are hiring a meticulous Receiving Clerk for our state-of-the-art logistics hub in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and organizing all goods that arrive at our facility. Your role is vital in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring a smooth flow of products into our warehouse. This position requires a sharp eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong understanding of inventory management principles within a logistics setting. You will be working with various forms of documentation, computer systems, and potentially warehouse equipment. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to strictly follow all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label inventory appropriately.
- Stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and cycle counts.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a similar logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including inventory management software.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Understanding and adherence to safety regulations and PPE requirements.
