We are looking for a reliable and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse facility in San Antonio, Texas. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy in documentation and physical receipt of goods. Your attention to detail is paramount in verifying shipments against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and accurately recording received items into our inventory system. This role is a vital part of our logistics chain, contributing to the smooth operation of the warehouse and the accuracy of our stock levels. You will be working in a dynamic environment that demands both speed and precision. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety are essential. We enforce strict safety protocols, and all employees must comply with these, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position involves moderate physical activity, including standing, walking, and requires the ability to perform frequent lifting of items, typically up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from delivery trucks.
- Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report findings.
- Accurately enter received items into the inventory management system.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away into designated areas.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal warehouse staff.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Perform frequent lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Support overall warehouse logistics and operational goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or logistics roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of basic warehouse safety and logistics.
- Commitment to safety and experience using PPE.
