We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team in Detroit, Michigan. This role is crucial for managing the intake of all incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment shipments arrive. Your primary duties will include unloading trucks, verifying contents against packing slips and purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately recording received items into our inventory management system. You will be responsible for maintaining an organized and safe receiving area, playing a vital role in our overall logistics operations. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to following safety procedures, including the appropriate use of PPE, are essential. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against documentation.
- Inspect all deliveries for damage and discrepancies.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system.
- Organize and stage received goods for subsequent processing.
- Communicate any issues with received goods to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including correct PPE usage.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting tasks as required.
- Support the smooth functioning of the entire logistics supply chain.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a receiving or inventory role is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Effective communication skills.
- Understanding of warehouse safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a demanding environment.
