About
We are expanding our in-house fire alarm installation and service division and are seeking a CFAA-certified Fire Alarm Technician to lead installations, testing, verification, and ongoing service work across commercial and industrial sites in Alberta.
This role is ideal for a technician who can work independently, pull permits, and sign off systems in accordance with Alberta Safety Codes and CAN/ULC standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, modify, test, and verify fire alarm systems
Perform inspections in accordance with CAN/ULC-S536 & S537
Commission and troubleshoot fire alarm panels (Mircom, Edwards, Siemens, Fire-Lite, etc.)
Complete verification reports and as-built documentation
Coordinate with AHJs, inspectors, and project managers
Train and mentor junior technicians
Ensure compliance with Alberta Fire Code and Safety Codes Act
Requirements Required Qualifications (Must Have)
- CFAA Registered Fire Alarm Technician (Active)
- Minimum 1ā3 years fire alarm experience
- Strong knowledge of ULC-S524, S536, S537
- Valid Alberta driver's license
- Ability to work independently and sign off systems
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
Preferred / Strong Assets
- Experience with addressable & conventional systems
- Experience with fire alarm verifications & annual inspections
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Familiarity with Alberta permitting process
