Night Shift Production Supervisor

Summary

Magest Building Systems is hiring We are currently seeking a night shift Production Supervisor for our Precast Division. Magest is locally owned and operated with strong ties to Stratford and surrounding communities. We are gearing up to grow the business and we want you to be part of that growth and success.

Each shift, the team will be responsible to cut Hollowcore (concrete) slabs, convey all slabs to outside storage areas (via overhead crane and heavy equipment) and prep beds for dayshift production.

The Production Supervisor will have 3+ years experience in a similar leadership role.

The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Responsible for coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training
• Hands on work including but not limited to: measuring and cutting Hollowcore (concrete) slabs with a semi automated machine, unloading and stacking completed slabs via overhead crane, cleaning and prepping production beds via Drivable Prep Machine, pulling Steel Strand for production beds via Drivable Prep Machine
• Work closely with the Production Manager and other shop personnel to communicate production scheduling requirements and output goals
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by ensuring that safety practices, systems, policies and procedures are followed at all times
• With support of HR, proactively manage any employee complaints, performance concerns or accidents/safety issues, including investigations and compiling relevant documentation or paper work, and corrective action
• Implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
• Completes operations by developing schedules; assigning and monitoring work; gathering resources; implementing productivity standards; resolving operations problems; maintaining reference manuals; implementing new procedures
• Have the ability to complete all tasks performed in the process, cover vacation and absenteeism of the small team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (min. 3 years) as Production Supervisor or similar role
• Proven success in supervision, conflict resolution, disciplining, managing processes, process improvement and production planning
• Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to foster teamwork and self-development while giving feedback
• Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
• First Aid and Health and Safety
• Heavy equipment experience
• Tow Motor, Overhead Crane experience
• Work overtime as required

This will be a 4X10 hour shift, Monday to Thursday 8 pm to 6:30 am

There will be a $1 shift premium on top of wage for this shift
