Warehouse Supervisor

Western Canada's largest mobile tire storage company seeks a responsible, hardworking individual to join the company as the Warehouse Supervisor for its Calgary South branch Tire Chalet was created in the spring of 2015 and is a family run business. By keeping service levels high and continually growing their business one account at a time, Tire Chalet has grown to the single largest seasonal tire storage provider in Western Canada. Future plans have expansion into both Ontario and Quebec in the coming years. In order to do so however, Tire Chalet will execute the plan on the strength of great people in each location they open.

The focus of the Warehouse Supervisor position will be to work in conjunction and collaboration with the Warehouse Manager and the Operations Committee, on all necessary duties and responsibilities listed below.

The scope of this position shall include but not be limited to:

• Manage the reception, handling, distribution, and storage of all tires and tire supplies that come in and out of the facility.
• Manage the workflow on the warehouse floor, allocating proper labor to required tasks and functions.
• Coordinate logistics to ensure all tire orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
• Manage a team of employees, including hiring decisions, delegation, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
• Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and maintain company policies and employee logs.
• Conduct quality control checks by checking details and washed sets, by performing spot audits of lifts and bins, to ensure accurate and acceptable work. Provide on-going training as needed where required.
• Determine operational efficiency with regards to employee utilization.
• Ensure safety is a priority with all workers, oversee strict adherence to Alberta and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
• Communicate all delays or variances in tire freight to the affected parties.
• Maintain strict control over inventory audits to ensure accuracy in fulfilling external deliveries to our customers.
• Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization.
• Promotes and enforces a culture of safety and well-being for all employees.
• Assess the need for, and arrange the purchase of, moving equipment like tire carts, order pickers, dollies and so on.
• Lift tire sets (50-75lbs.) in a safe manner.
• Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action.
• Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; make adjustments where necessary.
• Implement and monitor performance goals as set out by Tire Chalet.
• Other duties will be assigned as necessary

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of supervisory experience in logistics, warehouse, inventory management and/or shipping related activities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Management or a related field is an asset
• Knowledgeable of OSHA safety regulations
• Experience in 5S and continuous improvement an asset
• Great organizational skills and an eye for detail
