Akima Data Management (ADM) is looking for a Systems Administration VII to work in Albuquerque, New Mexico. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! Position contingent upon contract award Responsibilities Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software. Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters. Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems. Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries. Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.Provides technical support for system users. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. May act as lead.
Qualifications
A minimum of 6 years of related technical and managerial experience in supporting Information Technology environment at the server/data center level. Support would include (but not limited to): backup and recovery of systems, patching of systems, providing Tier II/III support to lower tiers, performance tuning, hardware upgrades, operational configurations, resource optimization, etc. Ability to support Microsoft and Linux Operating systems. Expert knowledge of other Microsoft Products used to manage an enterprise operation. Ability to develop project management documentation. Ability to work without guidance. Ability to manage and initiate projects. Serves as SME for information technology projects. Associates degree or Certificate from technical training institute.
