Research Assistant 2 – Bilingual INTREPID Lab About the INTREPID Lab: The INTREPID Lab is a hub for research and health services programing on nicotine addiction. Our goal is to synthesize and discover new knowledge in the treatment of nicotine addiction, validate technology-mediated methods and processes for delivering treatment and use these methods to scale up research discoveries to health services programs through our network of over 350 primary- and community-care partner organizations. In meeting its objectives, the INTREPID Lab works with technology vendors, in addition to creating its own technology-based methods and protocols, for research and subsequent integration into health services programs. Position Description The INTREPID Lab is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Assistant 2 (Bilingual) to help support a large clinical program called the STOP Program. Reporting to the Manager, your primary assignment will be collecting clinical, outcome and evaluation data to examine the effectiveness of providing tobacco dependence treatment to smokers across Ontario. The candidate will assist in collection of data from program participants by conducting follow-up assessments and interviews over the phone and in-person in English and French along with entering data, and tracking progress using an online data management portal. Other duties include participating in planning meetings and providing support to other team members. You will also be responsible for administrative duties pertaining to the program, such as ensuring program records are maintained, securely stored, and backed up appropriately. This role will also support a number of other studies and initiatives within the INTREPID Lab that can include administrative duties, liaising with program /research study participants and supporting basic literature searches and environmental scans. You must be able to work independently and effectively in an interprofessional team environment. Nous visons à synthétiser les connaissances existantes à ce sujet et à les accroître, à valider des modes de traitement assistés par les technologies et à appliquer ces avancées à des traitements grâce à notre réseau composé de plus de 350 organismes partenaires fournissant des soins primaires en milieu communautaire. À ces fins, INTREPID Lab collabore avec des fournisseurs de technologies pour créer ses propres méthodes et protocoles à des fins de recherche dans le but d’intégrer les données obtenues à des programmes de soins. Description du poste The INTREPID Lab souhaite engager un·e adjoint·e à la recherche II contractuel·le à plein temps (bilingue) qui sera chargé·e de participer à un vaste programme clinique appelé « Programme STOP ». La personne retenue, qui relèvera de la gestionnaire, aura pour principale tâche de recueillir des données cliniques (résultats des interventions et des évaluations) permettant d’examiner l’efficacité des traitements contre la dépendance au tabac proposés aux fumeurs de l’Ontario. Elle aidera à la collecte de données auprès des participants au programme en effectuant des évaluations de suivi et des entretiens par téléphone et en personne, en anglais et en français, ainsi qu’en saisissant les données et en suivant les progrès accomplis à l’aide d’un portail de gestion des données en ligne. Elle devra participer aux réunions de planification et apporter son soutien aux collègues au sein de l’équipe. Elle sera également responsable des tâches administratives liées au programme, notamment de la tenue des dossiers et de leur stockage sécurisé ainsi que de la création de copies de sauvegarde en règle. La personne devra aussi contribuer à d’autres études et initiatives de recherche au sein de INTREPID Lab – en apportant un soutien administratif, en assurant la liaison avec les participants au programme/aux études de recherche ou en apportant son concours aux recherches documentaires et aux analyses multifactorielles (environmental scans) de base, selon les besoins. Les candidats doivent être capables de travailler de manière autonome et efficace au sein d’une équipe interprofessionnelle. La personne retenue contribuera à créer un milieu de travail qui valorise la diversité, encourage le travail d’équipe et se conforme à l’ensemble des politiques et des exigences réglementaires et législatives en vigueur. Minimum Requirements The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of Community College with a background in health or social sciences combined with 6 months - 1 year of related experience. Bilingualism (French/English) is a requirement for this position. Preference will be given to candidates with a background or experience in working with a people who are suffering from substance dependence and/or mental health challenges. Familiarity with booking, scheduling and monitoring client appointments, setting up and organizing client files is required. Gathering, organizing and entering questionnaires and other information into databases and maintaining filing systems is required. Previous experience with online data management systems is preferred. Proficiency in completing workload and navigating workflows in computerized platforms is required. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office is required; SPSS for statistical analysis is an asset. Superior interpersonal, communication (oral/written) and organizational skills are required, and you have the ability to work effectively with a diverse population and within a dynamic team environment. Please Note: This full-time, contract (12 months) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit. Les candidats doivent avoir effectué au moins trois années d’études dans un collège communautaire et posséder une formation en sciences sociales ou sciences de la santé, ainsi qu’une expérience professionnelle de six mois à un an dans le domaine concerné. Le bilinguisme (français/anglais) est requis. La préférence sera accordée aux candidats ayant une formation ou une expérience dans le travail auprès de personnes présentant une dépendance à des substances psychoactives ou des troubles mentaux. Une bonne connaissance des procédures de prise de rendez-vous et de suivi, ainsi que de la création et de l’organisation des dossiers-clients est requise. Il est indispensable de savoir rassembler, organiser et saisir des questionnaires et autres informations dans des bases de données, ainsi que gérer des systèmes de classement. Une expérience préalable des systèmes de gestion de données en ligne est un atout. La capacité à accomplir sa charge de travail et à gérer les flux de travail sur des plateformes informatisées est requise. Une bonne maîtrise de Microsoft Office est requise et la connaissance du logiciel SPSS pour l’analyse statistique est un atout. De solides compétences interpersonnelles, communicationnelles (orales/écrites) et organisationnelles sont requises. Les candidats doivent être capables de travailler efficacement auprès d’une population diversifiée et au sein d’une équipe dynamique.
