About
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Durham, North Carolina. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our warehouse facility. Your expertise is vital for maintaining smooth operations, ensuring the timely movement of goods, and upholding the highest Safety standards. This position requires precision, reliability, and a strong understanding of warehouse logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up) safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and stage materials accurately according to storage plans.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in safe working order.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or damage immediately to maintenance and supervision.
- Follow all warehouse Safety rules and regulations.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed, including put-away and retrieval.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
- Proven ability to operate forklifts safely in a busy warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and Safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including some Lifting and bending, when not operating the forklift.
- Strong attention to detail and good spatial awareness.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and reaction time.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Experience in a logistics or distribution center environment is preferred.
