We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our bustling warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks, transporting inventory, and staging goods. This role is critical to our **logistics** operations, ensuring the smooth flow of products and materials. You will perform daily inspections of your forklift, maintain a clean work environment, and adhere to all company **safety** policies and procedures. This position requires excellent **lifting** and maneuvering skills with the forklift, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the warehouse team. Ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others is paramount, and you must consistently wear appropriate **PPE**.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trailers and trucks.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and stage inventory as required.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks and maintenance on forklifts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Wear and utilize all required PPE correctly.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a minimum of 1 year of recent forklift operating experience, and a strong understanding of warehouse **logistics**. You must have a strong safety record and the ability to **lift** up to 50 pounds when necessary. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness are essential.
