About
We are hiring a Receiving Clerk for our busy distribution center in Chicago, Illinois! This role is essential to our logistics operations, serving as the initial point of contact for all incoming shipments. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and committed to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. You will be responsible for verifying deliveries, inspecting goods, and accurately entering data into our system. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments.
- Verify received items against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy.
- Accurately document all incoming goods into the warehouse management system.
- Report any damages, shortages, or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Organize and stage received materials for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to Safety standards.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all company Safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and support overall logistics functions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and logistics processes.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in data entry and experience with warehouse management software.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
