About
We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our logistics operations in Omaha, Nebraska. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our warehouse. Your expertise in operating this equipment is vital to maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring the security of our inventory. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, adherence to Safety protocols, and the ability to work in a dynamic warehouse environment. We are committed to a safe working culture, and expect all operators to strictly follow all Safety guidelines and utilize required PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (counterbalance, reach truck, etc.) to move, stack, load, and unload materials within the warehouse.
- Read and interpret work orders, pick lists, and shipping/receiving documents to ensure accurate handling of goods.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by correctly placing and retrieving items.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety rules and regulations, including traffic patterns and speed limits.
- Ensure proper stacking and securement of loads to prevent accidents and damage.
- Assist with receiving and shipping functions as needed, including manual Lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around your operating zone.
- Wear all required PPE, including safety vests, hard hats, and safety shoes.
- Participate in regular Safety training and follow all company Safety policies.
- Support overall logistics efficiency by performing tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Must be comfortable with occasional manual Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Proactively identify and report any potential Safety hazards in the workplace.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid forklift operator certification or proven, verifiable experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Proficiency in various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional manual Lifting.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to following all Safety protocols and wearing PPE.
