We are recruiting a skilled Material Handler for our busy warehouse located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout the facility. This includes receiving, identifying, storing, and transporting goods using various equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are critical, requiring the consistent use of appropriate PPE and the application of safe lifting techniques to prevent injuries. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable of handling materials, and has a solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. This position is a key component of our supply chain, ensuring materials are available when and where they are needed.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials and finished goods.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move inventory.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Organize warehouse space to ensure accessibility and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
- Support the logistics team in meeting operational goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role.
- Forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 60 lbs regularly.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the proper use of PPE.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
