About
We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your role is critical in ensuring that materials are readily available for production or shipping, contributing significantly to our logistics operations. You will operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to transport goods, load and unload trucks, and manage inventory. A strong commitment to safety is paramount; you must consistently use provided PPE and follow all established safety protocols, especially concerning lifting and equipment operation. The ideal candidate is physically fit, possesses excellent attention to detail, and has a good understanding of warehouse safety practices. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and sort incoming materials and products.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Load and unload delivery trucks and trailers.
- Accurately record material movements and inventory levels.
- Organize and maintain warehouse stock for efficient access.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including proper PPE usage and safe lifting practices.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Support the logistics team in achieving operational targets.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification preferred.
- Ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs regularly.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Strong understanding of material handling equipment and its operation.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
