About
Our Milwaukee, Wisconsin facility is looking for a diligent and efficient Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of goods. In this critical role, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and coordinating the shipment of products to our customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. You will work closely with our logistics and warehouse teams to maintain high standards of service and operational excellence. Your attention to detail will be key to ensuring that all shipments are correctly documented, packed, and dispatched.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Verify that all outgoing shipments are accurate and complete, matching orders with products.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and ensure proper packaging.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the WMS accordingly.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided if necessary).
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and clean shipping area.
- Support the logistics team in achieving operational targets and improving shipping processes.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar logistics role is a plus.
- Familiarity with shipping software and procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A commitment to safety and quality in all tasks.
