Our bustling logistics hub in Los Angeles, California, is looking for an experienced Material Handler. This role is critical for the efficient movement and organization of goods throughout our facility. You will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to load, unload, transport, and store a wide variety of items. Safety is our top priority, and all employees are expected to strictly adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery for material movement.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Organize and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with receiving and verifying incoming goods.
- Conduct routine inspections of material handling equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
- Support shipping and receiving teams as needed.
- Participate in inventory counts and stocktaking.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler.
- Certification to operate forklifts preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks (up to 70 lbs).
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the correct use of PPE.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Experience with WMS is a plus.
- Commitment to a safe and efficient logistics environment.
