About
We are hiring a dedicated Material Handler for our Atlanta, Georgia facility. This position is key to our operational flow, responsible for managing the movement of materials throughout the warehouse. You will operate equipment, assist with loading and unloading, and ensure inventory is stored correctly. A commitment to safety and efficiency is paramount in this role, contributing significantly to our overall logistics performance.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse.
- Stack, palletize, and store materials according to established procedures.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including strict adherence to safety guidelines.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times while performing duties.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting up to 55 lbs.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations and material handling best practices.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and accident prevention.
- Excellent coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime as needed.
