About
Our Oklahoma City logistics center is looking for a meticulous Shipping Clerk to manage and coordinate the outgoing shipment of goods. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, ensuring accurate labeling, and coordinating with carriers to guarantee timely and efficient delivery. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of shipping procedures and logistics. You will play a key part in our supply chain, ensuring that all shipments are processed correctly and meet customer requirements. This position requires effective communication, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping manifests for accuracy.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., warehouse, customer service) regarding shipping status.
- Inspect packages for damage and ensure proper packaging before dispatch.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving tasks as needed during peak periods.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training preferred.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of shipping procedures, logistics, and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
