We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our operations in Boston, Massachusetts. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments. Your attention to detail and organizational skills are paramount to ensuring that our inventory records are precise and that materials are correctly staged for further processing. This position is a critical component of our Logistics chain, demanding accuracy, efficiency, and a strong commitment to Safety. You will work closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to manage the inbound flow of goods. We are looking for a reliable and organized individual who thrives in a structured environment and contributes to a positive and productive workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight, verifying quantities and condition against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies upon arrival.
- Accurately document all received items into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Tag and label incoming merchandise appropriately.
- Stage received goods in designated receiving or storage areas.
- Communicate any discrepancies, damages, or overages/shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Assist with inventory control tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Understand the importance of timely and accurate receiving for downstream Logistics operations.
- Perform occasional moderate Lifting tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Proficiency with data entry and computer systems, especially WMS.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform moderate Lifting for extended periods.
- Familiarity with Safety regulations and practices in a warehouse setting.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
