Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is pivotal in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and availability of our inventory, which is critical for seamless logistics operations and customer satisfaction. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for implementing and managing inventory control procedures, conducting cycle counts, analyzing inventory data, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring efficient stock rotation. You will work closely with warehouse management and operational staff to optimize inventory levels and minimize losses. A keen analytical mind, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) are essential. This position offers a significant opportunity to impact operational efficiency and contribute to the overall success of our supply chain. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our inventory reflects reality, enabling accurate forecasting and order fulfillment. Strong adherence to safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE, is a must.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective inventory control procedures.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to ensure product freshness and minimize obsolescence.
  • Oversee the process of receiving, put-away, and picking to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the WMS.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, turnover, and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and logistics teams to manage stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with product damage investigation and disposition.
  • Must be proficient in Lifting and moving items up to 40 lbs.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics network.

Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role. Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, WMS, and ERP systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes. Must be able to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting. Commitment to workplace safety and understanding of PPE requirements. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
