We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, California. This pivotal role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which is critical for efficient logistics and supply chain management. You will be responsible for implementing advanced inventory control systems, conducting regular audits, and resolving complex discrepancies. Your expertise will directly contribute to cost savings and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain sophisticated inventory control procedures and systems.
- Perform regular cycle counts and detailed physical inventories, analyzing results for accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures.
- Monitor inventory levels across multiple locations, forecast demand, and manage stock rotation to optimize availability and minimize waste.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away process, ensuring precise data entry into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborate closely with procurement, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment between inventory and business needs.
- Maintain the integrity of inventory data within the WMS and other relevant databases.
- Ensure proper storage conditions and handling protocols are followed to protect inventory assets.
- Champion safety initiatives, ensuring all logistics and inventory activities comply with safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Generate comprehensive reports on inventory accuracy, turnover, and variances for management review.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar logistics field.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Expertise with WMS software and advanced inventory management techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to perform moderate physical tasks, including occasional Lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Deep understanding of logistics principles and supply chain best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
