Join the #VTeamLife.What you’ll be doing...As a Distinguished Architect for Public Sector (SLED), you’ll be responsible for driving sales opportunities forward as a technical advisor to a core solution area and able to influence decision makers. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in presales, customer interaction, technical knowledge, architectural design and be able to perform in large organization. Ideally the candidate will have experience with the end-to-end Solution Design and Delivery thereby understanding the lifecycle of a deal and able to connect with customers at many levels in the business.Serve a segment solution & strategy specialist (CTO for SLED)Identifying, proposing, deploying, and supporting strategies and solutionsDriving partner strategyProject & program solution lead for the SLED segmentServing as a subject matter expert, teaching and training internal teamsProviding guidance on RFI/RFP/RFQ responsesManaging solution lifecycle and field support, from pilot to commercial adoptionExecutive Presentation Skills & PresenceBroad understanding of technology and solutionsCapability to have business conversations and link them to a customer’s objectivesPossesses strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas and concerns within a team settingEffectively adjusts communication style to suit diverse audiences, including senior managementPresalesComfortable assisting with multiple complex customer engagements at the same timeInfluential sales conversations – provide Customer outcomes perspectiveExecutive IT long term strategy identification and able to align Verizon valueAble to influence product teams to resolve technology gaps to help win an opportunityAct as final arbiter of solution elements, and technical editor of proposal narratives.Customer InteractionPossesses strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas and concerns within a team settingDemonstrates technical writing proficiency to support the creation of technical documentationEffectively adjusts communication style to suit diverse audiences, including senior managementDocuments issues and concerns comprehensively and in a timely manner to drive customer satisfactionPerceived as industry influencer and can connect with many personality typesComfortable speaking to C-level, middle management and line technologist as well as regularly presents at conferences/EBC/workshops to promote Verizon’s value;Experience architecting across multiple verticals and comfortable ideating common customer challenges in those verticals and synergies between verticalsTechnical Skills & CertificationsExtensive experience in Solution Design and Delivery of Telecommunications solution across various technology solutions and domainsAvid learner of technology in multiple disciplines with deep focus in networking and voice while having strong skills in multiple technology disciplines such as security, cloud, development, virtualization, and data center designMotivated to learn all aspects of a technology with hands-on learning, reading technical documents and strong contribution to industry community sitesGood Generalist of non-core-competency technology and some programming experience e.g. programming + database design + virtual infrastructuresArchitecture SkillsCreates complex architectures/designs that require a subject matter expert in individual area of technical expertiseLeads design and architectural discussions with client and peer technologistsMentors, authors and approves highly complex Statements of Work and Business Value ModelsProvides expert level technology specific architecture combining technical drawings, engagement definitions, operational instruction, and interoperability with other componentsDiscover, initiate and lead developing new concepts and incubating new products as partner with product marketing.What we’re looking for...The SLED Dist. Architect fills the role of trusted technical adviser for Public Sector Solution Architecture Sr Director, SLED clients and opportunities. A technical lead on complex sales involving solution design elements and act as the design authority for internal and external stakeholders by putting together multi-tower solutions and creating supporting design artifacts.You’ll Need To HaveBachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.Willingness to travel.Even better if you have one or more of the following:A degree.A degree in IT, information systems, or engineering.Experience in complex multi-tower solutions delivery.
