We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in New York City, New York. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which is vital for our logistics operations. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize inventory loss. A deep understanding of inventory management best practices and a commitment to Safety are essential. This position requires an analytical mind, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced urban logistics environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that our clients receive their orders accurately and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure they meet demand without overstocking.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Implement and improve inventory control procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Enforce Safety guidelines and ensure all team members use appropriate PPE.
- Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and techniques.
- Proficiency with WMS and inventory tracking software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Safety procedures within a warehouse setting.
- Experience with physical tasks such as Lifting merchandise is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree is a plus.
