Senior Surgical Technician - Cardiothoracic Surgery MT at Providence summary: The Senior Surgical Technician in Cardiothoracic Surgery prepares and maintains sterile fields, assists surgeons and surgical teams during procedures, and manages surgical instruments and specimens. This role requires certification as a Surgical Technologist and familiarity with operating room protocols and equipment. Employed in a hospital setting, the technician supports patient care through collaboration with medical staff and adherence to safety standards. The primary duties of the Surgical Technician include: being prepared for and knowledgeable of the surgical procedure to be performed, setting up and maintaining a sterile field, anticipate and assist surgeon as necessary, work with circulating nurse and other members of the surgical team, maintain familiarity, function and proper care of all OR equipment and instruments. The Surgical Technician initiates responsibility for care of specimens and performs other related duties.
