About

Forming part of the Site Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Manager, Engineering Reliability will lead a team of skilled Technicians in a high‑volume, highly invested medical device manufacturing facility operating in a clean room environment. The primary objective of this role is to optimise line up-time, efficiency, and yield of compliant, good quality output in a safe and sustainable manner. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring both technical expertise and the ability to develop capability within a highly skilled team. The role will work collaboratively alongside the Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Product Engineering Leader, QARA functions, and other members of the Site Senior Leadership Team to meet the needs of our customers, Associates and Shareholders by delivering good quality medical products & membranes in a safe and productive manner. Main Duties: * Lead, coach, and develop a team skilled Technicians to foster a culture of daily accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence through the use of Daily Management, Problem Solving, Standard Work, 5S, Variation Reduction, Value Stream Mapping and other tools within the Danaher Business System (DBS). * Drive optimisation of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to world‑class standards, ensuring high line availability, minimization of product scrap, and maximization of yield through the utilisation of data collection and analysis to drive decisions and prioritised improvement opportunities with urgency and rigor. * Maintain compliant product quality through robust engineering practices and adherence to GMP standards. * Lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to improve equipment reliability and performance. Oversee spare part management, including obsolescence mitigation and supply continuity. * Deliver cost savings via process and productivity improvements, waste reduction initiatives and optimisation of manufacturing spares & consumables spend vs. agreed budgets. * Generate and improve people & process documentation including Skills Matrices, Specifications, Statistical Process Controls, Technical Procedures and Maintenance Guidelines. Position Competencies: * Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience. * Proven technical leadership experience ideally in a regulated industry (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, food & bev) * Strong background in high‑speed automated assembly, ideally with exposure to robotic systems, control & vision systems, advanced plastic assembly & welding technologies (Ultrasonic, RF). * Demonstrated success in implementing TPM initiatives and OEE improvement programs. Experience in spare part management and obsolescence mitigation. * Proficiency in structured problem‑solving methodologies (5-Whys, A3, Ishikawa, DMAIC, 8D). Data‑driven, fact‑based decision maker utilising sources such as SPC and OEE to drive improved quality and productivity * Strong communicator with the ability to delegate, influence across functions; resilient, adaptable, acts with urgency, and committed to continuous improvement. * Collaborative leader who instills trust and motivates teams to deliver results, working seamlessly on shared goals with other members of the Site Senior Leadership Team. Other Duties: * Step in to support the leadership of other functional areas during periods of absence or where cross functional leadership is required. * Represent the Site Leader or Site on cross-site / business unit priorities as and when required. General Health and Safety: * Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities are carried out in full compliance with site Health & Safety policies & procedures, GMP standards, and regulatory requirements. * Promote a strong safety culture, embedding safe working practices across Technician teams * Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation, ensuring equipment, processes, and work environments are safe, reliable, and compliant. * Ensure appropriate training, permits, and documentation are in place for all engineering & maintenance activities in a GMP regulated environment.
