Southeast Texas Gastroenterology is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager

Position purpose
Responsible for personnel management and oversight of clinic operations. Responsible for the enforcement of clinic policies and procedures. Responsible for managing the daily operations of the office.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

Manage daily clinical staff operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and smooth workflow.
Provide oversight and guidance to clinical employees, serving as the primary point of contact for questions and concerns.
Approve time off requests while maintaining adequate staffing levels.
Review and approve bi-weekly payroll for clinical staff
Conduct annual employee performance evaluations and deliver feedback to clinical staff.
Lead monthly staff meetings to communicate updates on office policies and procedures.
Resolve patient concerns in person or over the phone with professionalism and empathy.
Prepare monthly utilization reports for the clinical department to optimize efficiency.
Interview applicants to meet staffing needs.
Provide support during staffing shortages, including answering phones, preparing charts, scheduling, and rooming patients.
Perform patient care responsibilities as assigned, such as:
Coordinating patient flow and schedules
Recording patient history and vital signs
Conducting patient screenings per provider guidelines
Supporting providers during exams and in-office procedures
Documenting in charts, handling phone triage, and administering medications.
Communicating instructions to patients and families.
Verifying prescriptions with physician orders
Carry out clerical responsibilities as assigned, including:
Managing patient medical records
Obtaining lab and imaging reports
Scheduling appointments
Verifying insurance coverage and demographic information
Updating records to ensure accuracy and completeness
Fulfill organizational responsibilities, including:
Respecting and promoting patient rights
Responding appropriately to emergency situations
Escalating patient or staff concerns to the immediate supervisor.
Travel between locations as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Nursing Degree from an accredited institution required, BSN preferred. RN license required. Must have a current RN license to practice in the state where the workplace is located. CPR and ACLS required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three–five years medical office management. Experience in internal medicine, specialty medicine or GI is preferred.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.
Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
Skill in effective personnel management including training staff and delegating duties.
Skill in written and verbal communication.
Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and direct the work of others.
Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
Prior experience interviewing candidates and determining staffing needs.
Experience managing patient issues.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally work environment may be very stressful.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Normal office environment. May view computer screens for long periods of time. Occasional evening or weekend work.
