Certified Surgical Technologists assist in operative procedures by maintaining sterile environments and providing support under the supervision of registered nurses. They are skilled in aseptic techniques, patient care during labor and delivery, and identifying changes in patient conditions to communicate effectively with the care team. This role requires formal certification, adherence to safety protocols, and strong interpersonal skills to contribute to quality patient-centered medical care.

- 1. Performs the duties of a scrub person.
- 1.1 Performs technical skills proficiently during procedures while demonstrating knowledge of sterile technique by adhering to principles of asepsis 100% of the time.
- 2. Performs selected patient care activities in Labor & Delivery under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- 2.1 Identifies changes in patients' condition and communicates significant observations to the RN as evidenced by report.
- 3. Demonstrates accountability and responsibility in daily performance of role.
- 3.1 Assumes responsibility for delegated activities 100% of the time as observed by supervisor.
