About The Job
At Google, we follow a simple but vital premise: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." User Experience Researchers (UXRs) make this possible.
Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. We care deeply about the people who use our products. The UX team plays an integral role in gathering insights about user needs, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inspire and inform design. We collaborate closely with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for users and Google’s business.
As a User Experience Researcher (UXR), you’ll help your team understand user needs by conducting primary research such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis.
The UXR community at Google offers opportunities to work with and learn from UXRs across the company through meetups, mentor programs, and access to research tools.
In this role, you will develop an understanding of user needs and influence features and experiences across Search, focusing on entertainment, finance, Translate, and more.
Google Search aims to reimagine how people search for information—any way and anywhere. You will have the chance to impact billions of users worldwide by solving complex engineering challenges and expanding infrastructure while maintaining accessibility and usefulness.
