The AppleCare Business Insights, Operations, and Systems (ACBIOS) team builds advanced analytics solutions that drive key decisions across Apple’s service and support ecosystem. As a Data Scientist, you will transform complex data into actionable insights that empower AppleCare leadership and product teams to enhance customer experience and operational excellence.
Description You will work across the data lifecycle—from modeling and extraction to visualization and storytelling—partnering closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, high‑impact insights that uphold Apple’s standards of accuracy, usability, and security. Design and implement advanced analytical models and pipelines using SQL and R/Python. Develop and optimize data extraction and transformation processes to improve accessibility and performance. Ensure adherence to data quality, governance, and security protocols. Build intuitive visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to technical and business audiences. Document methodologies and share analytical best practices to strengthen data culture across teams. Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and leadership to shape the future of analytics platforms within AppleCare. Lead end‑to‑end analytics initiatives, from scoping and exploration to analysis, interpretation, and executive presentations.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of applied experience in data science, business analytics, or business intelligence roles.
Strong proficiency in SQL and R/Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn).
Experience with data modeling, transformation, and analytics frameworks such as Snowflake.
Skilled in building data visualizations using Tableau, and presenting insights to diverse audiences.
Strong foundation in statistical analysis, including hypothesis testing and confidence intervals.
Experience delivering end‑to‑end analytical projects, from scoping to presentation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including translating data insights for business stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands‑on experience with Snowpark, PySpark, and streaming/interactive visualization tools such as Streamlit or Plotly.
Background in SMB, product, or service analytics, including service performance, warranty trends, and support operations.
Applied experience with software engineering workflows, including Git, CI/CD, and producing maintainable, well‑documented code.
Experience developing custom Tableau extensions or deploying LLM‑powered analytics systems.
Strong experience in storytelling with data, translating complex analyses into actionable recommendations for leadership.
Familiarity with large‑scale data platforms and scalable analytical pipelines.
Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
