Mad Swans is looking for a proactive, positive and energetic Group Head of Sales to join our growing team. Both new opening and multi-site experience is essential for this role.
This exciting role represents a rare opportunity to establish a new hospitality brand centred around sport, hospitality and sustainability. They will spearhead all commercial efforts for Mad Swans. It is pivotal in the launch of this exciting new brand. The Group Head of Sales will develop go-to-sales strategies, building brand awareness, driving revenue, and scaling our presence across key markets. The Head of Sales will also manage and develop a strong commercial team.
We are seeking a passionate Group Head of Sales to lead and manage a lean team which will grow as we expand as a business. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader, full of initiative and creativity, with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry and capable of driving sales at multiple new openings.
You will proactively drive sales at our first new opening at Mad Swans in the Mendips (Bristol) and will prepare for our second opening at Mad Swans in the South Downs (Farnham). Working closely with the Marketing Team, you will create and execute sales strategies which will deliver clear results. You will be a proven team player and are excited by and used to entrepreneurial environments.
In addition to Mad Swans in the Mendips and Mad Swans in the South Downs, we are also planning to open sites near to Farnborough and Exeter.

And, for evenings that go on forever, an Eco Cabin for the night is only a starlit walk through the wilderness away.

What there is to it Key Responsibilities
Responsible for overall budgeted and planned sales revenue
Lead and oversee a very small sales team
Actively drive revenue generation activities and execute sales initiatives
Convert individual and group enquiries into bookings with a high conversion efficiency
Work closely with the Marketing Team, Head of Topflight, Gym & Racquets Manager and operational teams to align goals
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
Build and lead sales teams across multiple properties
Drive B2B and B2C sales across corporate, group, and leisure segments
Set up systems and processes for sales, events and reservations
Establish key partnerships and secure early wins to build momentum
On-property Sales & Events Manage and support on-property events and reservations teams to deliver world-class customer service for both B2B and B2C customers and clients of Mad Swans
Help design and deliver all sales and events process standards for Mad Swans and ensure they are executed at all sites
Develop and execute sales strategies to increase bookings for rooms, events, and packages
Identify and target new business opportunities for weddings, corporate retreats, local partnerships
Conduct site visits and client show-rounds to promote the venue’s offerings
Drive events by presenting proposals, quotations, and contracts to clients
Maintain a sales database and track leads, inquiries, conversions, and pipeline activity
Attend wedding fairs, trade shows, and local networking events to represent the hotel
Work with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns
Cross-Property Oversight
Align local and national sales efforts with brand-level strategy
Coordinate cross-property promotions, events, and media opportunities
Monitor KPIs including RevPAR, ADR, and direct channel performance
This is a full-time permanent position. The salary for this role is £70,000-75,000/annum along with an attractive commission scheme. Please note, the commission scheme is uncapped with no upper limit.
Location – the planned base location for this role is Mad Swans in the Mendips (Bristol), however, there is some flexibility with location within the South of the UK. This role will travel to all existing and future sites. At present, we have sites in Bristol, Alton, Exeter and Farnham. We also have a central office in Piccadilly, London.
Travel Requirement This role will visit all existing and new sites in the future so there will be a need to travel on a regular basis. Given the location of our sites, the job holder will need to be able to drive and also have their own vehicle. This role may also require the job holder to stay away overnight from time to time.
Working Hours The working hours will generally be core office hours, however, occasional evenings and weekend work may be required at times.
Working Days This role will predominantly work Monday to Friday.
Who we’re looking for We are looking for a Group Head of Sales who is:
Experienced with five or more years of hospitality sales leadership
Proven and experienced with brand launches and multi-property new openings
Able to be strategic and have a mindset with strong execution skills and team leadership ability
Happy to be very hand’s on and get stuck in
Passion for innovation, storytelling and guest engagement
Results driven and driven to achieve ambitious sales revenue targets
Excited about launching a new hospitality brand and concept
An excellent communicator and negotiator
Strong organisational skills and able to multi-task
Confident, outgoing and well-presented
Self-driven and highly motivated
