About
About Us
For more than three decades, Curtis-Villar LLP has supported entrepreneurs and privately owned businesses across Ontario. Our firm has steadily grown by staying adaptable and embracing new ways of working. We were early adopters of real-time accounting technology and continue to guide our clients as the industry evolves.
We recognize that public accounting has busy seasons, but we also believe people do their best work when they have balance. Our team enjoys personal hours, a health spending account, paid professional dues, ongoing CPD support, study time, and regular team appreciation activities.
The Role
We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant who enjoys meaningful client interaction and takes pride in delivering accurate, well-organized work. In this position, you will work closely with a diverse group of small and mid-sized business clients, supporting them through year-end engagements, tax compliance, and day-to-day questions.
You will prepare working papers, manage deadlines, stay informed on relevant accounting and assurance updates, and collaborate with colleagues to resolve issues. We encourage team members to contribute ideas, suggest improvements, and help shape how we refine our workflows.
As we continue to adopt cloud-based tools and automation, you'll have opportunities to work with modern systems that allow us to focus more on high-value advisory work.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team setting and brings a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- An accounting diploma or degree
- Prior experience in a public accounting firm
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Dependability, initiative, and accountability
- A collaborative approach and a willingness to learn
- Effective communication and confidence when interacting with clients
- Comfort with cloud-based tools and applications such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Caseware, TaxPrep, Dext, Wagepoint, iFirm, and similar platforms
For CPA candidates: this position falls under the ACT pathway, not external audit. Applicants should have a minimum of 18 months of public practice experience.
