Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Floral Store Operations Manager to lead our service team and oversee the daily operations of our floral shop. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, hands-on floral experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role includes managing staff, coordinating floral inventory and imports, supporting online orders and marketing activities, and ensuring smooth, efficient store operations. Duties

  • Lead and supervise an operations team, including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
  • Handle escalated customer inquiries, complaints, returns, and service issues.
  • Oversee daily store operations: inventory, pricing, order processing, and cash handling.
  • Manage import and intercompany transfer coordination of floral inventory.
  • Report customer feedback and implement arrangements to improve service and sales.
  • Maintain botanical knowledge, including flower types, shelf-life, storage requirements, and educate customers on proper flower care.
  • Provide support and floral services to non-profit and religious organisations, while maintaining their values and specific requirements.
  • Support CRM management and assist with online promotions and marketing campaigns.
  • Prepare and send monthly invoices; ensure timely payments.
  • Act as and support with daily operations, including creating floral arrangements and decor as needed.
  • Analyse market trends, customer demand, and competitor activity to plan sales and sourcing for imported and exported floral products.
  • Utilising CARM and Customs clearance procedures in compliance with CBSA regulations.

Experience

  • 3+ years of retail or flower store management experience.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience creating floral art and arrangements.
  • Applied comprehensive knowledge of CBSA regulations, ensuring accurate and compliant import/export operations.
  • Strong skills in negotiation, merchandising, pricing, and sales management.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks.
  • Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge of sympathy and funeral floral arrangements, including design styles, appropriate flower selections, and cultural considerations.
  • Demonstrating expertise in marketing, training & development, and organisational skills.
  • Proven knowledge of inventory management, import/export processes, CARM platform, and floral care.
  • Experience working with non-profit or religious organisations.
  • Effective communication skills with phone etiquette proficiency and capable of conducting interviews.
  • Demonstrate digital skills required to manage and process online flower orders.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid G driver's license with a clean driving history.

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's, or post-secondary education in Business, Hospitality or administration.
  • Florist certificate courses are an asset, but not required.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
