Overview
Commercial Truck Equipment is looking to add a Full-Time Permanent Tool Crib Assistant to our Edmonton, AB Branch. The Tool Crib Assistant plays a key role in supporting production and operations by providing parts and tools for the service and production departments and overseeing inventory of shop supplies.

Reporting to the Service manager, an organized, detail-oriented individual with knowledge of warehouse operations, manufacturing, and production with the ability to follow directions and complete tasks with minimal supervision would be an ideal candidate for this position. The successful candidate must have a valid Class 5 driver's license, and we encourage all candidates with interest and appropriate knowledge and experience to apply.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Moving parts and inventory around the yard and facility
  • General shop and equipment maintenance and cleaning
  • Transfer tools, components, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from workstations
  • Maintain some inventory and shop supplies
  • Maintain a clean work area, including tools and equipment
  • Work with hand tools and ladders
  • Regular interaction with mechanics/technicians, shop staff, and managers

Qualifications
The successful applicant will have a mix of the following qualifications and experience. Commercial is looking for someone who has the experience to make a smooth transition into this position and hit the ground running. We will consider candidates from all backgrounds and industries, providing familiarization and training for the right candidate.

  • Valid Class-5 driver's license is mandatory, licensure above Class 5 is considered an asset
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Physically able to perform all duties and lift upwards of 50 pounds
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must follow all health and safety procedures and regulations as directed by the employer
  • Experience in a warehouse/shop environment would be beneficial
  • Forklift certification would be considered an asset
