The Hardware Engineer will play a crucial role in the failure analysis of hardware products, focusing on platforms such as servers and networking equipment. This role demands ownership of issue debugging and conducting in-depth failure analyses. The engineer will provide valuable insights to engineering and production teams to enhance product reliability, manufacturability, and quality. As a part of the Engineering Services team, the Hardware Engineer will offer technical expertise across departments, supporting the engineering and operation teams in electronics, operational software, and systems integration. Responsibilities: Conduct failure analysis and debugging by investigating hardware failures during development or production, identifying root causes, proposing solutions, and supporting corrective action implementation. Participate in new product introduction (NPI) by engaging in product transfer activities from R&D to manufacturing, translating engineering specifications into operational guidance, and supporting ramp-up through documentation, feedback, and troubleshooting. Produce detailed reports on test outcomes, debug findings, and engineering support activities, maintaining thorough documentation for traceability and future reference. Provide hands-on technical support for cross-functional teams by addressing hardware-related issues during testing, pilot builds, or production runs. Collaborate closely with team members, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure timely execution of deliverables aligned with team and project goals. Support additional engineering tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Essential Skills: Solid and practical foundation in electronics and hardware system integration. Working knowledge of server systems, including hardware components and diagnostic procedures. Familiarity with hardware such as network switches, power distribution systems, and personal computing devices, with the ability to assist in their integration or troubleshooting. Understanding of computer hardware architecture, including experience applying concepts like PCI-e, USB, and system buses in test or debug scenarios. Proficiency with test and measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), and soldering/rework equipment, with experience applying them in lab or production environments. Experience working with or troubleshooting management protocols (e.g., Redfish, IPMI) during validation or issue resolution. Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite for documenting procedures, reporting test results, and communicating technical findings. Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to identify root causes and propose corrective actions. Clear and concise technical communication skills for both documentation and team collaboration. Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of handling assigned tasks independently while supporting broader team goals. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; an advanced degree is a plus. 5+ years of professional experience in hardware development, validation, or manufacturing support. Job Type & Location: This is a permanent position based out of Fremont, CA. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr. medical, dental, pto, 401k, vision.
