Role Description This is a full-time, 5 days on-site role for a Finance Manager at Genesis Technology Services Limited in Peterborough. The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial planning, creating financial statements, utilizing analytical skills, financial reporting, and overall financial management of the company. About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Finance Manager to join our executive team. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, providing strategic financial leadership, and ensuring sustainable growth. This role is office-based and requires a hands-on approach to financial management, compliance, and business strategy. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute financial strategies to support business objectives. Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Monitor and analyse financial KPIs to drive performance and efficiency. Ensure compliance with UK statutory and regulatory financial requirements. Manage cash flow, profit and loss (P&L), and cost optimisation initiatives. Oversee internal and external audits to ensure financial accuracy and transparency. Lead and execute merger and acquisition (M&A) activities, including due diligence and integration. Provide financial insights to support decision-making at the board and executive level. Lead and develop the finance team to maintain high performance and efficiency. Establish and maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, investors, and key stakeholders. Implement and enhance financial systems, processes, and automation tools. Drive financial efficiency initiatives and cost-saving measures. Coordinate cross-functional teams to align financial objectives with overall business strategy. Maintain flexibility to visit and meet customers when required to support business growth. Financial Strategy & Leadership Lead the Finance department, providing strategic financial direction to the leadership team. Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to support business objectives. Advise the CEO and Board on financial planning, risk management, and investment opportunities. Accounting & Bookkeeping Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, and payroll. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements. Maintain strong controls over bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial records. ERP & Systems Management Act as the ERP system (SAGE 200), ensuring accurate configuration, reporting, and system optimization. Drive automation, process improvements, and integration of financial workflows through ERP. Train and mentor finance staff on ERP best practices and usage. Compliance, Audit & Risk Management Ensure compliance with local tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies. Establish strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or financial irregularities. Oversee GDPR/ISO compliance from a financial data perspective. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, IT, and Business Units to align financial policies and decision-making. Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a senior financial leadership role. ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification. Strong understanding of UK financial regulations, taxation, and corporate governance. Extensive experience in budgeting, financial planning, and investment strategies. Hands-on experience with financial systems, processes, and automation tools. Expertise in managing P&L, cash flow, and cost optimisation strategies. Strong background in internal and external audits, financial compliance, and governance. Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), due diligence, and integration processes. Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and drive alignment on financial objectives. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Willingness to travel and meet customers as needed to support business growth. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in private equity-backed businesses or listed companies.
