Quality assurance inspector position conducts inspection of parts, materials, processes, and verifies assembly operations being performed per planning requirements during the manufacture and/or repair of helicopters, components and assemblies. Essential functions include: Inspecting, sampling, testing of parts, products, materials and assemblies for defects and deviations from engineering drawings and specifications. Use basic measuring devices (i.e. caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, scale, etc.). Verify all documentation complete prior to releasing parts. Attach appropriate tags to products when required. Maintain associated forms and records. Drug and alcohol testing program: The quality assurance inspector position performs functions, or is immediately available to perform functions, that are considered safety sensitive for the purpose of maintenance or preventative maintenance as defined by 49 CFR 40. Therefore, employment and continued employment with the company is conditioned upon full compliance of the company's DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program. Work hours: This is a full-time position, with eight hours of scheduled work Monday through Friday and any scheduled overtime, including Saturdays, as required by workload demands. Department has mandatory usage of hearing protection, safety glasses, and respiratory protection. Physical demands: Ability to stand eight hours, twist, reach, as well as lift up to 45-50 lbs. Able to use both hands to grasp, hand together with arms. Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers on one or both hands. Able to manipulate large size objects. Capable of wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Position type and expected hours: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Qualifications: Blueprint reading. Communication (reading, writing & speaking English). Thoroughness/attention to detail. Time management. Work environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee must maneuver around pallets, work tables and containers of various sizes in work area. Employee has an assigned desk and work table in department. Respiratory use, hearing protection and safety glasses are not mandatory, but are available on a voluntary basis. Physical demands while performing job duties employee is regularly required to move containers of parts weighing up to 35 pounds in inspection area. Weights handled during inspection of part will vary from a few ounces up to fifteen pounds per part. Throughout the day the employee is required to sit; stand; bend; use hands to write, handle or feel; reach using hands and arms to push, pull, grip, and rotate wrist to inspect parts. Ability to use both hands while ascending and descending ladders to perform some assembly inspections.
