Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Truck and Trailer Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our service facility. This leadership role involves managing a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality repairs, and maintaining efficient workflow for heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and strong leadership skills to ensure safety, quality standards, and customer satisfaction are consistently met.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the shop team, including technicians and mechanics.
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on trucks, trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Review schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic data to troubleshoot complex issues such as transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC systems, diesel engines, and electrical components.
  • Assign tasks efficiently based on skill levels and workload to optimize productivity.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service documentation.
  • Ensure proper use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, and vehicle lifts.
  • Conduct quality control inspections before vehicle release to customers.
  • Train or mentor team members on new procedures or technologies as needed.
  • Collaborate with parts suppliers and vendors to ensure timely availability of necessary components.

Skills

  • Proven dealership or heavy equipment shop experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
  • Extensive knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding (soldering), assembly, and equipment repair.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex systems like transmissions, hydraulics, suspension alignment, HVAC systems, and diesel engines.
  • Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery , tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment.
  • Mechanical expertise in brake repair (including air brakes), shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and suspension work.
  • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting with experience in automotive electrical systems.
  • Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various repair tasks.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in demanding environments while maintaining safety standards. Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $30.32-$51.91 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
