Job Description: The Estimator will be an integral part of the estimating team, interacting with ownership, staff, project managers, and clients. This is a full-time role with benefits. This position requires a hands-on approach to all aspects of estimating, from detailed take-offs through to final bid preparation, while maintaining our high standards of quality and integrity.

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Conduct market research for materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for sewer and watermain projects, earthmoving, and other various civil projects.
- Analyze contract documents, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate takeoffs.
- Identify project risks and opportunities during the bidding process.
- Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to incorporate practical construction methodologies.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather critical project information.
- Prepare detailed bid submissions and participate in client presentations when required.
- Work collaboratively with staff, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Liaise with clients and build trustworthy relationships.
- Update projects as/when needed.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in civil construction, with specific knowledge of sewer and watermain projects preferred.
- Proven ability to perform accurate quantity take-offs.
- Strong understanding of underground utility construction methods and challenges.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed civil engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for underground infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of Bid2Win Software (or willingness to learn).
- Civil Engineering Technology diploma or related degree an asset.

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm
- Overtime if/when needed.
