Job Description

The Subcontractor Engagement Manager plays a critical role in advancing FLINT's subcontractor management practices and operational success. This position is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, internal stakeholders, and operational teams to deliver effective subcontractor oversight. The role ensures contract compliance, subcontractor readiness, and alignment with FLINT's operating models.

What would you be doing?

  • Lead and mentor a team of contract specialists, sourcing coordinators, and subcontract readiness coordinators, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Oversee end-to-end subcontractor processes, including sourcing, prequalification, onboarding, execution, performance tracking, and audits, ensuring compliance with contractual, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with subcontractors, internal stakeholders, and operations teams to enhance collaboration, streamline processes, and support organizational growth.
  • Track subcontractor performance metrics, lead audit programs (onsite and paper audits), and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure alignment with project goals and safety standards.
  • Expand FLINT's subcontractor base to support entry into new geographical regions, establishing reliable, long-term partnerships that align with business objectives.
  • Partner with proposals and estimating teams to align RFQ processes with project requirements, facilitate subcontractor onboarding and kick-off meetings, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on subcontractor challenges.

Qualifications
  • 8 years in subcontractor management, operational project management, or supply chain leadership, preferably in construction or project-driven environments. A diploma or degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop teams while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating across Procurement, Operations, HSE, and Estimating teams.
  • Extensive experience managing subcontractors during project execution with a deep understanding of contract management principles, subcontractor challenges, and compliance oversight.
  • Skilled in developing and improving processes to enhance efficiency, streamline subcontractor management, and resolve challenges effectively.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of adapting to changing priorities and ensuring project success.
