Position Overview

: We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented

Financial Analyst Intern

to join our growing finance team. This role involves managing full-cycle bookkeeping across multiple client entities, preparing accurate monthly financial statements, and supporting CFO advisors with reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

·      Catch up and clean client books within tight deadlines including capturing and uploading receipts, and maintaining organized records

·      Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including AP, AR, and bank/credit card reconciliations

·      Perform account reconciliations, Interco reconciliation, journal entries, and adjusting entries

·      Assist with GST/HST filings, year-end adjustments, and working papers for accountant review

·      Support month-end and year-end closing for multiple clients; ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records across several entities

·      Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and Forecasts

·      Work directly with CFO advisors on budgeting, KPIs, and financial improvement initiatives

·      Support financial modelling initiatives use for grants and other purpose

·      Support valuation and projection work, including company and industry research and development of investor-relations materials and valuation package

·      Assist with managing client meetings, preparing Engagement Letter and meeting agendas, following up on action items, and handling related administrative tasks including supporting tradeshow and other Business Development tasks

·      Learn to use timesheet to track client's billable hours and charges in professional setting

Qualifications

·      Minimum 1 year of bookkeeping or accounting experience using QuickBooks; candidates without QBO experience must have an accounting background and be fast learners

·      Strong ability to support or build financial models and business plan schedules (asset)

·      Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required); experience with Xero or Wave is an asset

·      Solid understanding of Canadian GST/HST/PST compliance

·      Strong skills in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint

·      Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines

·      Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills

·      Bilingual in English and Mandarin/Cantonese is an asset; must be comfortable communicating with clients via WeChat when required
