Our Cincinnati, Ohio, distribution center is seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our vast inventory. This role is crucial for optimizing warehouse operations, minimizing losses, and supporting efficient logistics. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, and analyzing inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and a meticulous approach to detail are essential. You will work closely with all warehouse departments, including receiving, shipping, and operations, to maintain seamless inventory flow. Your expertise will help us reduce discrepancies, improve stock accuracy, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control policies and procedures.
- Oversee and execute cycle counting programs and full physical inventories.
- Analyze inventory data to identify discrepancies, trends, and potential issues.
- Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Manage and reconcile inbound and outbound inventory transactions.
- Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory, and recommend disposition strategies.
- Collaborate with operations, receiving, and shipping teams to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper PPE usage and safe lifting practices.
- Generate regular inventory reports for management, highlighting key metrics and insights.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a high-volume distribution environment.
- In-depth knowledge of WMS software and inventory management principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks as needed, including occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
