About the role

We're looking for a senior engineering leader with strong product instincts to guide our technical organization through the next phase of growth, while also shaping product direction alongside our CEO and COO, as we scale from our current 2 million members to
20 million members
(and more).

This is a rare opportunity to join a
small but mighty product team
at a key inflection point. You'll work closely with our
CEO, COO
and
product team
to shape our product strategy, build out our product organization and help scale our platform nationally and beyond.

, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to
make things happen
with limited oversight and resources.

You have…

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering and product roles
    , including at least 3 years in leadership, with a proven track record of scaling and leading technical teams in a consumer tech environment
  • Hands-on technical expertise
    : you can architect systems, write production-quality code, conduct code reviews, and mentor senior engineers
  • A strong background in our tech stack
    – AWS, Python (ideally Django), React Native with TypeScript
  • Proven success scaling a technology platform 10x
    in traffic, users, or throughput, while maintaining quality and performance
  • Strong product instincts
    to inform technical priorities and ensure engineering solutions align with user and business needs
  • Deep experience partnering with product and design leaders
    to ship impactful features
    on mobile and web
  • A history of building and nurturing high-performing engineering teams
    , including recruiting top technical talent and fostering career growth
  • A data-informed, outcome-driven approach
    to prioritization, product delivery, and technical decision-making
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills
    , able to inspire alignment across executives, product, engineering, and design

Bonus points for having

  • Worked in a
    B2C
    environment before
  • Familiarity with
    carpooling, shared mobility or travel
    platforms in North America
  • Knowledge of
    French or Spanish

What you will be doing

  • Lead and scale the engineering team
    , hiring and developing top technical talent
  • Provide technical leadership:
    1-1s, mentoring, setting architectural direction, and occasionally contributing code to stay close to the systems
  • Build and
    refine product development processes
    and team structure to support scale
  • Partner with our developers to
    build features that scale
    and enhance the member experience
  • Collaborate with the
    CEO and COO
    on design and product strategy and priorities
  • Translate
    business goals into product outcomes
    by guiding technical execution, informed by data and user insights.
  • Maintain a
    high bar for quality
    , usability and performance throughout the product lifecycle

Compensation & location

  • Ideally based in GTA (Toronto or Kitchener/Waterloo) for regular coworking sessions with our Product Team -
    every 2 weeks minimum.
  • Base salary starting at $180,000
    , plus
    profit-sharing
  • Equity through the Employee Stock Options Plan (ESOP)
  • 20 paid holiday days per year
  • 10 paid statutory days off per year
