Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sports & Movement Instructor to lead engaging and educational classes for children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting physical activity, developing children's motor skills, and creating a fun, safe environment. This role involves instructing kids in various sports and movement activities, fostering teamwork, discipline, and confidence through structured lessons. Prior experience working with children and a background in sports or martial arts are highly valued.

Duties

  • Lead and facilitate children's sports and movement classes, including activities such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, judo, karate, swimming, and other physical education programs
  • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that promote physical development, coordination, and social skills
  • Ensure a safe environment by monitoring children during activities and managing behavior effectively
  • Provide instruction in basic safety skills related to swimming and martial arts when applicable
  • Engage children in fun and motivating ways to encourage participation and skill improvement
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the cleanliness of activity areas
  • Communicate with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behavior when necessary
  • Assist with behavior management strategies to foster positive classroom dynamics

Skills

  • Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings
  • Knowledge of sports coaching techniques and physical education principles
  • Background in martial arts such as karate, judo, or similar disciplines is a plus
  • Lifeguard experience or certification is desirable for swimming instruction roles
  • Ability to teach various sports including basketball, cheerleading, climbing, or gymnastics
  • Strong communication skills to effectively instruct children and collaborate with team members
  • Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for engaging young learners in physical activities
  • Experience in behavior management to handle diverse student needs effectively
  • Childcare experience or teaching physical education is advantageous

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
