Early Childhood Educator (3 to 5)

Reports to:

The Early Childhood Educator reports to the Program Supervisor.

Here's how you will make a positive impact on a day-to-day basis:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate activities and experiences to meet individual and group needs of all children and families of a childcare program.
  • Guide and care for a group of children ages 3 to 5 years old
  • Encourage learning and develop positive self-concepts for children
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for children
  • Maintain effective and cooperative team work and communication
  • Maintain positive and supportive relationships with parents and families

In addition to being a wonderful and positive person & team player, you must have:

  • ECE basic &/or Special Needs Certification
  • Childcare First Aid and Food Safe Level 1
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of:
  • Emergent curriculum and the BC Early Learning Framework
  • Developmental needs of children
  • Family engagement strategies and parenting issues and needs
  • Guiding and caring strategies
  • Knowledge of broader child care field and its role in the community

Additional skills and experiences may include:

  • ECE Infant / Toddler Certification
  • Child care experience working in an inclusive child care setting
  • Second Language

Terms of Employment:

  • Salary: $27.85 to $28.74 per hour plus employer-paid health and welfare benefits. In addition, you may be eligible for a $6 per hour Provincial ECE Wage Enhancement.
  • Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Starting: January 5, 2026
  • Location: Downtown, Vancouver
