Job Overview:
Responsible for supporting the Human Resources team with administrative tasks, ongoing project work and participate in recruiting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support on a variety of ongoing or new HR projects and initiatives
- May include the development of company job description creation/updates, policies and procedures development, and outlining company benefits within the orientation procedure for New Hires
- Assist Talent Acquisition and Human Resources Business Partners with the recruitment process
- Screen resumes and application forms, schedule interviews and conduct reference checks for final candidates
- Perform administrative tasks such as employee filing, updating Human Resources bulletin boards and organizing online Human Resources SharePoint structure
- Attend weekly Human Resources meetings when necessary and requested, providing updates on the status of projects and initiatives
The Recipe for Success:
- Currently enrolled in or has completed a Human Resources Management or a related post-secondary program
- Previous experience learning Human Resources concepts in an educational institution
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
- Basic knowledge of Human Resources programs and policies
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and project management skills
- Must be able to meet project deadlines, with good sense of urgency and follow through
- Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision
