Personal Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in home care environments. The ideal candidate will be committed to improving the quality of life for clients by offering personalized support with daily activities, health management, and emotional well-being. This role is vital for ensuring clients receive respectful, attentive, and professional care tailored to their unique needs.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Transfer client from bed to chair and chair to bed using a mechanical lift safely.
• Support seniors and individuals with disabilities through companionship and assistance with mobility.
• Assist client with toileting using a bedside commode safely and independently.
• Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary
• Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
• Assist with transfers and heavy lifting to ensure client safety during movement or repositioning
• Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
• Support clients experiencing dementia or hospice care by offering emotional support and engagement
• Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures

Qualifications

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care is preferred
• Knowledge of patient care techniques, dementia care, and working with people with disabilities is advantageous
• Ability to perform and experienced in using a mechanical lift for transfer and able to perform the transfer independently and safely.
• Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate attitude towards clients of all ages
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
• Able to provide vulnerable police check is a must.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
• Must be reliable, patient-focused, and committed to providing respectful support to clients

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3.5 – 7 per week
