We are seeking the right individual to fulfill a position in our Calgary office, as a:
SQF/HACCP COORDINATOR

Responsibilities:
- Verify that all inbound/outbound products consistently meet our specifications for quality (size, weight, color, etc.) by measurement of key metrics and adherence to sampling and testing programs.
- Ensure adherence and compliance with established HACCP programs and policies, thereby ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and food safety.
- Prepare and review SOPs to ensure continuous compliance.
- Develops training materials and train cross functional teams and employees to support and reinforce quality standards, HACCP; ensuring 100% completion of food safety training.
- Continuous communication with Operations and Sales teams to ensure specifications are correct as per customer requirements.
- Participate in investigation of deviations, product incidents and complaints. Ensures root cause and effective corrective actions are put in place to address immediate risk and prevent reoccurrence.
- Preparation and participation in internal and external Third-Party Audit relating to CFIA and customer specific requirements.
- Stay current on food safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve HACCP programs.
- Perform duties and carry special projects/tasks as assigned by Management from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience with SQF
- Must have SQF Level 1 food safe fundamentals, SQF Level 2 food safety code and SQF Level 3 food quality.
- 2-5 years experience in HACCP function within the fresh produce industry (procurement, retail or distribution).
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively inter-departmentally and at various levels throughout the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of team in fast paced, 24/7 refrigerated warehouse environment
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Requires ability to stand for long periods of time
- Strong skills and ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and find solutions to solve them in a timely manner
- Leadership qualities and effective teamwork skills
- Delegates responsibility effectively
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Careful attention to detail and accuracy
